Slot Asserts He Feels Secure and Has The Club's Backing Following PSV Eindhoven Loss

Arne Slot acknowledged that it's natural for questions to be raised about his future after another convincing defeat against PSV Eindhoven.

The Reds endured their ninth loss in twelve matches, marking the team's poorest run since being relegated in 1953-54.

They were taken apart by the Eredivisie champions on a difficult night at their home ground.

“I feel secure, I am OK, I've received significant support from management,” Slot stated.

“It would be nice to change things and earn three points naturally but if you are in a managerial role and underperforming then it's typical that doubts arise.”

He added, “I am OK with my position. It is not the first time I've found myself in a difficult position but it is about time that we turned it around.”

Discussions with The Board

Upon being questioned to provide details on his conversations with the club's leadership, the head coach said:

“There's regular dialogue. They assist to the team and to me and we discuss these matters but they don’t call me all the time each day to say they have faith in me.”

He added, “In the normal conversations we have I sense the trust. However I've not talked to them after this defeat so far so let’s see.”

Persistent Problems and Player Reaction

Slot lamented familiar failings from his Liverpool side in their Champions League defeat, namely poor finishing and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, midfielder Curtis Jones was blunter in his assessment of the current crisis.

“I haven't got the solutions. Truthfully, I do not. I'm telling that to all,” the midfielder remarked.

“It is not good enough. I don’t even have to wait to think about it. I'm beyond feeling anger internally. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the words.”

He went on, “It’s hard because I’m playing for the side I follow. I’m a fan, and I’ve seen this club all my life.”

“In recent memory, I haven’t experienced a Reds side going through a spell like this with performances so bad.”

He finished, “However we continue to wear the crest on our chest. And as long as that badge is removed, we’re always going to fight.”

“Our aim is to help the side return to its rightful place, demonstrate to all once more the values of this club and the reason it's called the top club in the world.”

“At this moment, we're in trouble and it must improve.”
