Shocking Recording Shows Point Law Enforcement Suffer Blade Attacks in Unexpected Assault

Both Senior Officers Moments Before the Attacker Received Electric Shock

One police sergeant who rushed to the assistance of a partner that was assaulted by a knifeman received the Monarch's Honor for Bravery.

Sgt Tim Ansell fought with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown after he pressed a weapon to the throat of his colleague Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown initiated the assault as the policemen and their colleague, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a driver subsequent to a traffic accident in Whalley Range in summer 2023.

Brown stabbed and slashed the two Sergeant Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to Police Constable Wolstencroft stunned him with a electric weapon.

"Officer attacked," the constable stated over his communication device.

Bodyworn and dashboard camera footage released by the force showed Brown, wearing in black with a hood covering head, rush to Sergeant Foster from the rear with a knife pointed forward.

He struck the policeman who lost balance and went down to the street, before Sgt Ansell jumped in and struggled to restrain him to the pavement despite being continually attacked with the knife.

PC Wolstencroft Stopped the Aggressor, Jacob Brown, with a Taser

Police Constable Wolstencroft drew his Taser and sought a safe opportunity, bringing the fight to an conclusion.

Sergeant Ansell stated audibly: "Can I get assistance on my throat now, I got knifed in the throat."

Sergeant Ansell received two open wounds to his throat and additional wounds to his limbs and body, whereas Sergeant Foster experienced knife wounds.

The department said Sgt Foster utilized his palms to control his partner's bleeding before medical personnel came.

This most recent honor comes subsequent to the law enforcement team received organizational Bravery Awards in late 2023 and the police federation award from the local Police Federation in April 2024.

They additionally received a Regional Bravery Award in July 2024.

"The efforts of the entire team eventually saved one another and ensured no civilians experienced any injuries."

Brown was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order in April 2024, as stated by authorities.
